21. Sugar skulls and possibly a new sweetheart
The National Museum of Mexican Art's annual celebration for the Day of the Dead has become so big, it's now taking over the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier (600 E. Grand) from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 1-4. Free. Visit navypier.com/things2do.

22. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend
Square-cut or pair-shaped, the rocks in the exhibit “The Nature of Diamonds” are certain to attract. Catch it at the Field Museum, 1400 S. Lake Shore, from Oct. 23 through March 28, 2010. $23 for adults.

23. Dating for Nerds — Over-35 Edition
If you saw the original “Star Wars” films in the theater more than once, this is the dating event for you.
